What did my students teach me today?
A supporter of my students’ aspirations, I am their often-strict and always-hopeful cheerleader as they go through their journeys, figuring out the complexities of life.
As an autistic teacher, I believe in creating classrooms that are truly learner-centric and celebrate neurodiversity. I strive to co-create environments where every student's lived experiences, perspectives, and thoughts are valued. This commitment guides my use of experiential learning pedagogies, including real-world projects, class debates, and case studies that bring complex issues to life. For me, education goes beyond simple textbook knowledge – its ultimate purpose is to equip students with the critical thinking and empathy they need to engage with the social, political, and cultural challenges of our world. It is this generation that will change the world for the better, and it is my passion to support and guide them as they prepare to do so.
